SarkCess Boy Feels Disappointed In Local Artistes

SarkCess Boy Feels Disappointed In Local Artistes

He made this allegation during a live telephone conversation with Dj Andy Dosty on the showbiz Review show that is currently streaming at the Hitz Fm studios as we were filing this report.

Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr, affectionately known as Akwaboah has registered his disappointment with some of his “local brothers and sisters” in the music industry and described their hide and seek attempt that eventually spurns other artistes as painful. In a phone interview with Andy and his pundits, Akwaboah tried to explain what he meant by “It’s better to collaborate with a Foreign artiste rather than Ghanaian artiste” statement that has been trending on social media like the pregnancy of a teenage pastor’s daughter. When the host asked him about the said statement he replied that he had a context in which he spoke and never meant the foreign musicians were better than the local acts here. This gave him an opportunity to explain further by saying, “if you would discuss with any artist manager, they will tell you straight that trying to get a local artist on a song is extremely difficult”. Andy Dosty seemed puzzled and made room for Akwaboah to give further explanation. In his defense, the “Hye me b)” singer made the preceding comment.

“Andy, somebody thinks he is up there and you are looking for a way to become like him. I don’t know why people think like that… Andy, it would surprise you to know that a well-meaning elderly fellow saw the post on my facebook page. He likewise did complain bitterly about the same situation. He complained that he has been trying to get some of the top artist to be on his track, but they have all turned deaf ears”. He further added that even when they collaborate with you, trying to get them on your set for a music video is another herculean task, not even Hercules could surmount. In his concluding statement, he bemoaned that even in Nigeria, when an artist’s career is “dying”, they collaborate with top trending artists to “resurrect” it. However, in Ghana, it’s the exact opposite.

In a recent development, the Sarkcess boy who helped Sarkodie write and produce his Mary album was also fingered by Andy Dosty for portraying same attitude towards another colleague, Shatta Rako.
